Joann Collins (daughter of Lester and Dellora Norris) bought the sculpture from a gallery in Naples, Florida, soon after the Norris Center opened in the late 1970s. The sculpture was donated to the Norris Cultural Arts Center by the Norris and Collins families.

Another copy of the same sculpture is owned by the Jewish Community Center, Rockville, Md., where it is known by the name, “Mitsvah Dance.”

The SCAC has received permission to include this privately owned artwork, which appears in a public place, in the Art in Public Places Project.
