Story: This artwork was donated to the The Park District because they facilitated and assisted in the construction, in Pottawatomie Park, of four structures that would have existed in an 18th century Native American village. This recreation of an Indian village was part of the “Ekwabet‘s 20th Birthday Celebration”. The Park District worked with Nick Hockings (of the Ojibwe Nation) and the Schingoethe Center of Aurora University – it’s Director Meg Bero and docents – to build and provide tours of the village.
